BLACK BREAD NOMINATED FOR BEST IBERO-AMERICAN FILM AT ARIEL AWARDS
MASSA D'OR PRODUCCIONS is pleased to announce that PA NEGRE is one of the 3 films nominated for Best Latin American Film at the 54th edition of the 2012 Ariel Awards of the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences AC
PA NEGRE, by Agustí Villaronga has been recognized nationally and internationally. In Spain it became a record film, being the third most awarded film in the history of the Goyas, with 9 awards, and being the first Catalan film to win it in the category of best film. The film also won 13 Gaudí Awards, the Silver Frames, and the Turia and Sant Jordi Cinematography Awards. Also, in the international section, BLACK BREAD was the film chosen by the Spanish Academy to represent Spain at the Oscars. The film has participated in San Sebastian festivals where Nora Navas won the Silver Shell for Best Performance, Palm Springs, Spanish Cinema Now (Los Angeles, Miami and New York) and Japan, among others.
In this edition of the Ariel Awards, PA NEGRE will compete with LA HORA CERO by Diego Velasco (Venezuela) and VIOLETA SE FUE A LOS CIELOS by Andrés Wood (Chile).
Agustí Villaronga already won 7 Ariel Awards in 2003 for his film ARO TOBULKIN.
The award ceremony for the 54 Ariel Awards will be on Saturday, June 2 at
Palacio de Bellas Artes de México DF, and will be attended by the film's director, Agustí Villaronga, and its producer, Isona Passola.
