Imma
IN PRODUCTION
An adaptation from the novel Mare de llet i mel by Najat el Hachmi
Imma is a journey through Fatima's motherhood. The story tells the life of a young Rifian girl from the early days of adolescence; a life conditioned by tradition and family habits. From her arranged marriage to Mohamed, Sara is born, a giggly and curious child. But living in the Sqali family, the house of her parents-in-law, as tradition dictates, becomes her worst nightmare and, six years after Sara's birth, she leaves for Catalonia to live with her husband, Mohamed.
But Mohamed has created a new family and has no intention of taking them in. Mother and daughter will have to find a way to survive and adapt to a foreign city. Over the years, Sara adapts and defines her personality. This will gradually lead to more and more conflicts between mother and daughter. Fatima will find herself between two worlds with a decision to make.
